I’m a student at ETH Zurich, in Computational Science Engineering at the maths department. Often I spend my free time at the makerspace there.
Interests:
- plants: botany (phalaenopsis orchids, amaryllis, mint, hoya, vanilla)
- cycling (gear teeth: front 2x 30,54T rear 10s 11..43T so 703% total range)
- electronics (500W+ LED array, nose warmer)
- green coffee roasting (diy coffee roaster)
- 3d printer, plastics (recycling with artme MK3, 3D printed bike front derailleur)
- polyhedra (origami, glued paper)
- custom ROMs (lineageos)
- repairability
- open source (linux, python, openstreetmap)
- vector maps (openmaptiles, maplibre-gl-js, pgsql-omt-schema)
- sysadmin (zfs 30+TB unique data, DIY wifi network, lxc, postgresql, grafana, pyramid)
- home automation (homeassistant, LED garden yearly schedule to make the length-of-day vary like solstice/equinox)
- data archival (full wikipedia copies, select youtube videos 10TB)
